MEN'S LEATHER BRACELETS

Leather is a very dynamic natural material that features unique patterns in its grain, and this helps to give the bracelet a little more soul than other non-leather bracelets. Over time, genuine leather bracelets develop a distinct patina, adding to their character. If you care for your leather bracelet properly, it’ll last you a lifetime.

A leather bracelet will stretch somewhat as you wear it, so make sure not to wear it too tightly when you first get yours. We have many different types of bracelets for men: wide, merged, braided, triple wrapped, twisted, and combinations of all of the above.

The quality of any leather product, including bracelets, can be divided into three grades:

• Full grain leather is the full hide – minus the hair – and thus preserves the leather’s natural grain. The quality of full-grain leather is fantastic, producing a handsome surface and very durable products. It’s also the thickest, firmest, and most expensive of the leather grades.

• Top grain leather is thinner and more flexible than full grain leather and, depending on the context, may be more comfortable. Like full grain leather, top grain preserves the hide’s natural grain, but because it is thinner, it is slightly less durable than full grain leather.

• Split or ‘genuine’ leather is the most affordable type of leather and the lowest grade that can still be justifiably called ‘leather.’ Split leather is made of the lower two layers of leather and therefore does not have the hide’s natural grain on it. An artificial layer is applied to the surface of the split leather, which is then embossed with a faux-leather grain.

At Trendhim, we mainly use full grain or top grain leather.

The most popular leather bracelets are tanned brown or black and feature a range of vintage textures. But in addition to these classics, adding colourful natural stones or braided nylon threads can add a heap of character to your bracelet.

When you measure your wrist to determine the size of the leather bracelet you should select, be careful not to wrap the measuring tape too tightly around your wrist.

If the bracelet is for a gift and you are unable to measure the actual wrist, here are some good rules of thumb to guide you.

5 1/2" (140 mm) = Fits the wrist of an x-small man

6 3/8” (16 cm) = Fits the wrist of a smaller man

7” (18 cm) = Fits the wrist of a medium-sized man

7 7/8" (20 cm) = Fits the wrist of a large man

8 3/4” (22 cm) = Fits the wrist of an x-large man

51 1/5" (1.3 m) = Fits the average elephant
