Ivory ties

18 products in stock – Free delivery

Ivory ties are often used for weddings and special occasions, especially since their off-white tone will usually match and resemble the bride or bridesmaid's dresses. However, ivory is a colour that can be used for many more occasions. From weddings to a day at the office, wearing an ivory tie will add a touch of balance and elegance to your outfit.

Not quite white

Ivory, a tonality of white, is often thought of as a pure colour. It reflects honesty, balance and loyalty. As a neutral colour, it conveys a sense of calmness and understated elegance. Although usually reserved for wedding and formal occasions, ivory ties can be used in many different scenarios. They can be paired with jeans in a business casual outfit, because they usually work great with patterns.

One thing to keep in mind is that your shirt must be lighter than the tone of your tie. Since ivory is in a sense a colour variety of white, it can be a little challenging to find a shirt that is completely white. Patterns that have very light shades of blue, red, and even green work great with ivory silk ties and they look put-together. Combining them with a patterned shirt definitely creates a visual image of calmness, confidence, and style.

As an additional style tip, make sure that the exact colour of the tie isn't on the shirt. The same shade should not be present since it will give the impression that you are blending. The function of the mens ivory tie is to dress, separate, and create a visual division between your left and right sides.

All about collars

There are six basic types of neck collars for shirts. The spread, the forward point, the tab, the cutaway, the button down, and the club are the types of collars that should be used in combination with a tie. Some of these collars work better with a wide knot and others work better with a narrow one. Keep an eye out for your shirts to make sure you are combining the right tie width, knot and collar. If these are mismatched, it will possibly create an uneven appearance, even if the colour combination works great.

Knot to worry

As for tie knots, there are over 18 different types. Basically, there's a knot for every occasion and type of tie. You don't need to know them all. However, there are three varieties that are essential and can get you through most occasions: the Four-in-hand (also known as simple know), the half-windsor, and the full windsor.

Take your time

While narrower ties work better with the Four-in-hand, medium ties work best with the half-windsor, and wider longer ties work best with the full windsor knot. If you are unsure about which knot you should use for your ivory wedding tie, experiment. It's always a good idea to take some time the day or night before to figure out all the details of your outfit before heading out to a special occasion event or the office.
